My name is Mr. Brian Klinger. I have been teaching at Northwest since the fall of 1992. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree from Spring Arbor College (now Spring Arbor University) in 1991 and my Master of Arts Degree in Teacher Education in 2004 from Spring Arbor University. I am highly qualified in both Mathematics (my major) and in Physical Education (my minor).
I am married to Shelly, and have 2 children who both graduated proudly from Northwest. My son, Kirk, is in the Navy as a Nuclear Machinist Mate and my daughter is a sophomore at Olivet College and is studying Special Education. She is also a member of the Olivet College softball team.
I am proud to be a teacher and coach at Northwest High School. I grew up in the Mid-Michigan area, as I graduated from Leslie High School in 1982. I am also the Varsity Baseball coach. I have been coaching baseball at Northwest since 1991 as a volunteer coach and in 1992 became one of the Junior Varsity baseball coach. In 1996, I became the Varsity Assistant coach under Hall of Fame coach, Keith Huntley. Upon his retirement in 2007, I was named the Varsity Head coach and started my career as head coach in the spring of 2008.
I truly enjoy what I do both in the classroom and on the baseball field. I love working with high school students and wouldn't trade what I am doing for any other job. Thank you for letting me teach your kids. My hope is that my students enjoy being in my classroom as much as I enjoy having them in my courses.
